Who submits permit applications?
Blanc and Bailey Construction can take care of all paperwork having to do with your building project.

Where is the Blanc and Bailey office?
18 Depot Street, in Charlestown (directly behind Jiffy Mart on Main Street).

If financing is needed, what will the bank require?
It depends on the project type and the bank you are working with.  However, at a minimum your construction budget will be required to get you started.

What type of insurance is necessary?
Blanc & Bailey Construction carries Workers’ Compensation Insurance and General Liability Insurance.  As a property owner, we require that you carry fire and other builder’s risk insurance listing the Contractor as additional insured.

When doing structural work, can I still occupy the residence?
It depends on exactly the type of work being done. In some cases, insurance dictates that the building cannot be occupied when structural work is being done.  In most cases, however, your home can be occupied during construction.  There will most likely be temporary disruption in heat, water and sewer if the foundation is being replaced.

What are average costs per square foot for home construction?
$140-$250 per square foot

What are average costs per square foot for home renovation (bedroom, living room)?
$75-$150 per square foot

What are average costs per square foot for kitchen and bath renovation?
$100-$200 per square foot
